Alicia Barry, Golds, Special Day 1

Alicia shares a little about her layout: ‘I have used Capri flowers and mini glitter roses along with soft gold
ribbon and rhinestones. I also went with a peach colour theme to try to support
the gold colouring, with purple and apricot flowers to tie into the bride’s
bouquet in the photo’.

frame card - Beck Beck Beattie

Using only white cardstock layer embossed and non embossed pieces to create
interest.  Contrast this with coloured flowers for a striking
effect.  I used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to raise the frames and butterfly
for dimension without unsightly foam being seen under such detailed pieces.

In the press

Our flowers have been appearing on projects far and wide recently. We are noticing them popping up so much more among the pages of crafting magazines, both here in Australia, and overseas. We thought it would be fun to showcase some of the beautiful creations we have come across in the magazines, here on our blog. We plan to make this post a regular event, so, please, if you have had any creations featuring Manor House Creations products published in a magazine, anywhere in the world, we would love to have to chance to share them with everyone.

Just send your work to us here designteam@manorhousecreations.com , along with the magazine it was published in, and the issue, and we will do our best to feature it here on the blog for the world to see.

Something a little different

As you have probably noticed, our gorgeous new ‘Great Gatsby’ collection is full of stunning, rich, and bold colours. We thought it might be fun to show you a colour combination that you may not have thought of, let alone tried before. I would never have thought that red and purple together in a project could work, but, well, take a look at what our design team have done below, and Im sure, after seeing these, you too will be a convert.

Alicia has used the bright colours, while still managing to keep her usual soft, romantic style

Step x step card with Beck Beattie

Posted on

Hi there, and welcome to a special post, where Beck Beattie is going to share a little of her creative genius with us, and show us how she goes about creating a stunning card.

* * *

image020

Step 1: Add an embossed piece to the plain Kraft cardstock card and Colour the embossed accents of the card (I used the Spellbinders 4D emboss folder).  Then ink the remaining in some Old Paper Distress Ink.

step 1

Step 2; Take one of the pink Icicles flowers and remove the centre so you have the icicles on their own.

step 2

It should look like this

step 3

Step 3: Now take your Tweeney Weeney roses and remove the green ‘leaf’ (discard this piece) as well as one set of petals

Step 4

Step 4: Now add the flower to the card layering in the roses and icicles.  Finish it off with a die cut butterfly, some pearl flourish and a little tag with your sentiment.  Lastly add a little bow made from some pink netting to finish it off.

Joanne has once again wowed us with her ability to turn a cute metal bird cage into an amazing work of art. Here she has created an amazing ‘Ice princess castle’

Joanne shares a little about her creation ‘ This time I altered yet another cage…it is the fairy-tale castle home of my ice princess. She lives within and holds a flickering battery operated candle at night. It really does look gorgeous at night but doesn’t photograph so well…I did try :(

Designer Inspiration

Hi, and welcome to our blog today. Do we have a treat for you. We have a mammoth post to share with you, full of gorgeous floral creations from our amazing design team ladies. We are sure you are going to be just as blown away as we are.

To begin, a delightful layout by Heather McMahon

shhh

Heather tells us a little about the creative process: ‘I made the flower banner by using only the centres of flowers. I glued them in place to look like they were strung across the page. I made some small satin bows and glued these at the top of each flower loop to make it look like the string of flowers was tied into place. I used soft pastel colours to add to the dreamlike feel of the page.’

Another soft, and pretty layout, this time from the talented Alicia. The flowers vines make the perfect frame for this adorable photo of her children.

Alicia Barry-May Great Gatsby-Perfect moment 3

Alicia shares a few tips: ‘I decided to stick with the blues and build the layout around the vine piece (which I LOVE). I cut it into 2 sections. I added the black touches and the paper lace doily to tie in with the Great Gatsby colour scheme I was after.
