Linda has made this pretty little card using the TSC Springtime papers. Here, she shows you step x step, how to make it.
Hi Linda here. I have had lots of fun layering these beautiful papers to create interest on this feminine birthday card.
Materials:
2 pieces of Spring Awakening SA H03 patterned paper 12” x 7”
Cream cardstock
Manorhouse Creations Cottage Garden Bird Song Flower
Manorhouse Creations medium leaves x 3
Ranger Distress Ink – Antique Linen
Sponge Dauber
Cream Seam Binding
Memento London Fog Ink
Birthday Sentiment Stamp – mine is from Stamp-It Set sis046
Kaisercraft Pearls
Distressing Tool
Craft Knife
Small fine tipped scissors
Adhesives – double sided tape and foam dots.
Instructions:
Step 1 – Gather together the above mentioned supplies for your card.
Step 2 – Cut 4mm off the long edge of the patterned paper…along the top graph line.
Step 3 – Cut the patterned paper piece so you have the floral accent piece on it, 20cm x 10.5cm.
Step 4 – Cut card base from cream cardstock, score and fold. Ink the edges of card base with Antique Linen Distress Ink.
Step 5 – Cut 2 pieces of the blue plaid pattern 10.5cm x 4cm. Ink and distress 3 edges of these pieces and adhere to the sides of the card base.
Step 6 – Trim around the scalloped edge at both ends of the 20cm x 10.5cm piece and distress the scalloped edges.
Step 7 – Using your craft knife trim out the inverted scallop centre of the floral motif and mark the top of this piece with pencil. (To help when stamping sentiment later).
Step 8 – Fussy cut the top layer of the flower arrangement.
Step 9 – Add foam dots to back of scallop edge layer and adhere to card base.
Step 10 – Add foam dots to fussy cut piece and adhere to card base. Lift up the leaves for added dimension.
Step 11 – Stamp the sentiment on the inverted scallop circle piece. Ink the edges of the sentiment piece and adhere to the centre of the floral motif with foam dots.
Step 12 – Adhere 3 leaves, a messy seam binding bow and a Cottage Garden Bird Song Flower.
Step 13 – Add a row of pearls below your sentiment and a cluster of pearls to the top right of your card.
Step 14 – Pop your finished card in a DL size envelope and send off to a dear friend to make their day.
Delaina was asked to be part of the team not only because of her talent with design, her skill with fussy cutting and attention to detail, but also because she teaches techniques and step x step projects by video. We hope to show you one very soon – stay tuned.
My name is Delaina Burns. I love all things crafty and have as long as I can remember. I make draperies and bedding from home, part time, and scrap my nights, and weekends away. I live in a small town in Alabama with my husband of 27 years. I have 2 children, both of which are pretty grown up and preparing to leave the nest soon. I have a new kind of life approaching, so for therapy, I plan to play with gorgeous flowers, beautiful patterned papers, buttons and trims of all kinds. I have been scrapbooking for 5 years and have been fortunate enough to be on many different design teams and had several magazine and ezine publications. I adore teaching and turning others on to this craft that brings me so much pleasure. I feel blessed and excited to be included on this fantastic team.

Feast your eyes on Delaina’s very first MHC layout. The outlining, the stitching, and yes, there’s that fussy-cutting she is so clever at.

Welcome Delaina!
Melinda was chosen because of her bold use of flowers and style. She is very clever at using flowers on her ‘boyish’ pages.

Hi my name is Melinda Thompson. I am married to a wonderful husband Brad of 11 years and we have two adorable boys, Riley 4 years, Finlay 2.5 years who are my constant source of inspiration. We live in Emerald in Central Queensland and just love the quiet country life.
I started scrapping around the time that Riley was born but only really became ‘serious’ about 2 years ago. Now I am hooked!! Scrapbooking to me is a wonderful combination of creative release and a way of recording our family’s memories. I love to scrap and journal about the little & insignificant details of my boy’s life. I do something scrap related nearly everyday, if I’m not scrapping I am thinking about it, browsing through magazines, online galleries and blogs or simply taking photos of my little boys.
My style is always evolving, not sure if I have a style as I love to experiment with new techniques, so it often depends on what I am scrapping or the challenge. Even though I have two boys, I am not afraid to use flowers on my layouts. But I do love to use any distressing technique, layering, stitching and non scrapping embellishments on my LO’s.
I have had a number of LO’s published with Scrapbooking Memories and have quite a few waiting to be published. I am currently on the Design Team for Colour Combos Galore, Purple Pumpkin and the Creative Team for Stuck Sketches?!
I am very honoured to be part of this Design Team and I look forward to sharing my work with you soon.

Morag was chosen to join the Manor House team because of her style and amazing work with flowers and Off-the-page projects. Just wait till you see one of her cakes!

I have been hooked on scrapbooking after completing my first page 6 years ago. I have been encouraging other scrappers and card makers ever since. I live in the UK with my lovely (and patient) family who are the main focus of my pages although I adore making off the page projects including mini-books, home decor and just about anything!
My style varies depending on the requirements of the project, but generally the more layers and detail, the better! I believe that one of the most important aspects for serving on a design team is inspiring people to try out products or techniques. I hope that I will provide you with inspiration so that you’ll try out projects at home!

Joanne was chosen to be on the Design Team because of her bold designs, often using white backgrounds and gorgeous use of lots of flowers.

My name is Joanne but my friends call me Jo. I am a very proud mother of 2 (the best kids in the world I am slightly bias) and I am happily married to my best friend and have been for the last 17 years. He is the best husband a girl could ask for and is very supportive of my scrapbooking. We live in sunny Queensland on the northern side of Brisbane along with our 2 dogs and more pet birds then I can count. I have been a scrapbooker for at least 11 years and I would say I am slightly addicted to this craft…lol. I have also tried my hand at digital designing and scrapbooking but I missed the touch and feel of paper so I am now back to paper scrapping again and I might say LOVING IT!!!
