Hi Again Everyone,

Trudi here with some more layout inspiration for you today.

I have once again combined some gorgeous Manor House Creations beauties with the sublimely luscious The Scrapcake ‘One Moment In Time’ Collection.

First up something on the ‘mauve’ side.I started with the ‘A Heartbeat Away’ patterned paper and added a touch of misting using Tattered Angels Juneberry Wine Glimmer Mist and an acrylic decorative doily mask.

Long Banner strips created from the ‘Each Day I Live’ paper were added over the top. Strips were cut in different lengths and attached vertically and horizontally.

Some decorative accents hand cut from ‘The Much Remains’ paper were attached along one side of the photo, along with a large flourish die cut vine.

An assortment of Manor House Creations blooms were added.  These included Frosting, Country Lane, Fairy Floss and Nikita.

The centre part of the Nikita was only used on this occasion.

Fairy Floss blooms were sprayed with  Juneberry Wine Glimmer Mist to coordinate.

Next, something more on the ‘blue’ side.

I started with the ‘If You Seize That’ pattered paper for the base.

Elements from the 7 x 12 Borders were hand cut and attached.

A die cut decorative frame and large flourish vine were added along with more Manor House Creations blooms.

This time around, I have incorporated the following beauties: Frosting, Plain Janes, Party Mix Blossoms and Beauty. Blossoms.

The centres were removed from a couple of Fairy Floss and Plane Jane blooms.  There were then layered over the top of some of the Party Mix.

Step x step with Delaina (revised)

* * *

Its Delaina with you today. Thanks for taking the time to check out the step by step canvas I created this month. Manor House Creations make it easy to produce a beautiful project.

* * *

1. The first step is to paint a thin coat of cream acrylic paint over your canvas, and allow it to completely dry.

2. Cover a mask with modeling paste. I have used a scrolly mask in each corner, and have only covered portions of it in a few places. Allow to completely dry.

3. I have used pink, beige and green paint here. I simply used a small paint brush and smeared streaks of the color onto the canvas. TIP: If you feel you have added too much color, paint over those areas with the cream paint you started with.

4.  Add a 4×6 photo, after popping it up with pop dots.

5. Attach the beautiful Manor House Creations flowers with liquid glue.

6.  I then fussy cut some flowers and leaves from the Scrap cake collection ‘One moment in time’, I then adhered those aroung the flowers as shown

6. Add some butterflies, and your title, and you canvas is ready to frame.

Products used: MHC Marguerite-mocha, Beauty-off white, Merangue-pin, TSC-One moment in time.

I hope you enjoyed this step by step as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Happy Scrapping!

Manor House and The Color Room #108

This month Manor House Creations has joined with the creative talents of the team at The Color Room. For the month of April, Manor House Creations  has been proudly supporting The Color Room team. This is week number four, with some of the girls from our design team as featured guests.

The Color Room is a challenge site started by a group of well known scrappers who “strive to push your creativity through new inspiring colour palettes, sketches and tutorials.”

Here is this week’s palette #108

DELAINA BURNS has created an adorable page filled with a gala of Manor House beauty. Her sweet niece’s photo is surrounded in the rich textured blooms and hand stitching, giving it a country feel.

JOANNE BAIN’S soft, feminine layout captures the youthful delight of her daughter and friend. The allure of the Manor House Creations Chiffon flower compliments the feel so beautifully. Jo has colorized the Cutie Pie flowers to match the colour scheme. Her little nest and rose flowers were a handmade gift from a friend.

Layout “Cherish” by Joanne Bain.

Products used: Cutie Pies, Chiffon, small leaves. The Scrap Cake – “My Private Happiness.”

Step by step layout from Melinda

We have a very special treat for you today. Our talented designer Melinda has created a step by step tutorial, giving us a behind the scenes look at how she goes about creating one of her wonderful layouts.

‘Hello everyone, it’s Melinda here and I am very excited to share with you a very simple Step x Step on how I created this layout for The color room.

Step 1……

I almost always use a little misting on my backgrounds.  So with this gorgeous rich colour palette I decided to go with some TA Walnut Gold, one of my favourite colours, and just randomly spray around the page.  At about the centre of the page I gave a few good spritz’s in the one area and lifted my page and let some of the mist run down.

Step 2….

I fussy cut around some flowers on some Hambly transparency and just placed them on the page.

Step 3….

Next I got my chipboard clock along with my distress ink (Antique Linen) and gently dabbed some ink over the chipboard to give it more definition.

Step 4….

I placed my chipboard over the top of my Hambly and then started layering and building up my layout with my papers and flowers.

Step 5….

Often with layering on a layout, it is just a matter of getting the balance right.  I most always work in a triangle. So here you can see that on my triangle corners I will place my flowers so that it surrounds my photo.

Step 6….

More fussy cutting of some Crate Paper to add further interest to my layout. I just kept placing them on until I was happy with the balance.  Once I was happy I added my photo, embellishments and title’.

Products used:  Blossoms (altered), Mascarpone (altered), Christmas Star (altered), Enchanted – little princess (white)

We hope you enjoyed Melindas tutorial, and the wonderful layout she created.
