For the girls in my life.

Hi everyone, Alicia here with you today with some girly layouts to share with you.

The first one is a typically girly layout of my little princess. With two older brothers, it is so nice to have a little girl to scrap, especially with so many wonderful MHC flowers for inspiration.  I adore the Watermelon coloured flowers. They are such a gorgeous shade of pink, and team really well with paler shades too.

Alicia Barry, My Little GirlSee how the black centres of the watermelon Rue flower works in so well with the black spots on the pretty Powder Puff flowers.

MHC supplies used:
Ruffles: brown and pink, Rue: watermelon, Whimsy: pink, Glitter mini roses: pink, Powder puff: citrus mix

My second layout for you today is of our little puppy Penny. She’s such a sweet dog, but it was a nice change to be able to snap this super cute photo of her. She is usually just a blur running around with the kids.  I loved this new paper I got from CHA and decided to use that as my inspiration, and of course, there is always a MHC  flower to match every project, and I love how you can match several different shaped flowers within one colour set. The yellow gives the whole project such a light summery feel.

I have used tight clusters of flowers to create a focal point around my photo, without the risk of cluttering the whole page.

Small glitter flowers are a great finish to a flower cluster.

Rather than having too many large flowers competing for attention, I stripped down the yellow flowers of its outer petals to create a smaller flower to compliment my top flower cluster.

MHC supplies:
Gelato: lemon, Imagine: light blue, Idyllic: light blue, Rue: white, Apple: blossoms, mini glitter roses:gold, Lotus: divine beauty.
Thanks for taking a look at my projects. Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Hi everyone,

To celebrate the month of LOVE, I wanted to scrap this photo of some red roses my husband surprised me with last year on Valentines Day.  As you all know I love creating interesting backgrounds to compliment my Manor House flowers as well as my photo.  So today I have a quick and easy step x step project to share with you on how I created a heart shaped textured background on my layout using some Manor House flowers.

Remember these gorgeous paper flowers….

Well I have a stash of them and I couldn’t help but think how gorgeous they would look as an awesome background. Here is the layout I created.

Step 1 – Glue down in a heart shape your paper flowers.  These don’t have to be of the one colour or size. You will notice here I have used some purple, pink and blue flowers.  This all adds to the interest and character of your layout. Once you have these glued down, add some Gesso over the top to soften the edges. Do this with a paint brush.

Step 2 – Outline the shape of your heart with a thick coat of Gesso using a paint brush. Go over this outline as many times as you want to define the shape.

Step 3 –  Place your photo mat in a similar shape over the top.  In my case I have used a peice of heart shaped chipboard.  Can you see the texture and added interest already on my layout??

Here is a close up photo of how gorgeous the paper flowers look on the background… So in 3 simple steps you can create a unique background using your Manor House paper flowers.

Products Used: The ScrapCake Papers – My Private Happiness, Summer City, Petite Roses, Cutie Pies (misted), Blossoms, The Tropics (white) misted red.

Thanks for taking the time to visit..

Till next time…

Guest designer – Helen Tilbury

It is with the utmost pleasure that we welcome the incredibly talented

as our guest designer.

‘Hi there!  My name is Helen Tilbury & you can find my blog at, where I blog under the name of SCRAP ADDICT.

I’ve been scrapbooking for 9 years now, online for 4 and creating things for my whole life!  I live in Durban, South Africa, with my husband, 4 kids

& 3 cats.  It’s challenging being a busy crafter here as I have to buy 90% of what I use online and import it myself but that’s a whole other fun side

to this creative life.  I’m on various Design Teams right now, Les Papiers de Pandore paper & stamp manufacturer from France, My Creative Scrapbook

Kit Club in America, Purple Pumpkin Embellishment manufacturer in Australia, Berry71Bleu tags on Etsy, Scrap Friends online store in Brisbane &

Scrapmatts chipboard team, also based in Australia.  I spend my mornings creating, blogging & working in my studio and my afternoons in my car

taking & fetching kids from their extra lessons and school activities, with a lot of waiting in between.  Thank Goodness for mobile phones & e mail!

I do a lot of that from my car!!  Thanks so much for having me here at Manor House Creations.  I’m a complete flower junkie & love adding

them to many of my layouts, not just the ones with girls in them!  Flowers are versatile & I love the dimension they add not to mention the shabby touch’.

Here are a few of Helens stunning creations, all featuring a wonderful selection of Manor House Creations flowers

And again, the Winters song flower, this time ‘Cyan’ makes a stunning addition to Helens layout.

We would like to thank Helen for sharing her wonderful creations with us. Her work has been an inspiration to many scrapbookers, both in Australia and overseas. We hope she has inspired you today.

From the heart….

Hello everyone…whose getting excited about Valentine’s day?…Its nearly here. And one of our talented designers, Elena Olinevich, has created the most precious of gifts in honour of it. Here’s what Elena created and what she had to say:

Recently I have fallen in love with OTP projects, and though I ‘m making just my first steps, I like experimenting with my favourite fabric – Linen.

I am from Belarus and linen is symbolic for my country, and associates with our national traditions.
So I sewed heart shapes using linen and decorated them with lace, sewing lace and cheesecloth. Then I added some bows made of lace trims
and decorated them with flowers. I didn’t want to be them in traditional pink/red colors, so I used Mia White and Dahlia -purple.

As a final step, I used my favourite technique – I covered everything just slightly with gesso, including the linen too.

Kind regards,

Love is in the air
