Gloriously gold

Hi, and welcome to our blog today, on this lovely Sunday. We are hoping you are going to get some creative ‘me’ time today, and are here to give you a little inspiration, using some of our stunning gold tones from the new Winter Collection.

Our amazing design team have once again created some jaw dropping beauties,

MHC Products: Lazy Days misted with gold Perfect Pearls mist, Vines – white, Poetry – Sage, Shades, Lotus – white, Capri Rose – Gold, Ornate frames.

Alicia shares a little about her layout: ‘I have used Capri flowers and mini glitter roses along with soft gold
ribbon and rhinestones. I also went with a peach colour theme to try to support
the gold colouring, with purple and apricot flowers to tie into the bride’s
bouquet in the photo’.

Altered box by Tiffany Morgan

MHC Products used: Capri – aqua, Glitter mini roses – caramel.

Using only white cardstock layer embossed and non embossed pieces to create
interest. Contrast this with coloured flowers for a striking
effect. I used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to raise the frames and butterfly
for dimension without unsightly foam being seen under such detailed pieces.

In the press

Our flowers have been appearing on projects far and wide recently. We are noticing them popping up so much more among the pages of crafting magazines, both here in Australia, and overseas. We thought it would be fun to showcase some of the beautiful creations we have come across in the magazines, here on our blog. We plan to make this post a regular event, so, please, if you have had any creations featuring Manor House Creations products published in a magazine, anywhere in the world, we would love to have to chance to share them with everyone.

Starting June in style

Hello, and welcome.

For those in Australia, welcome to the first day of winter. Some of you will be dreading the cold weather, but for me, it means I have an excuse to be inside, in my little craft room, creating!

We have some gorgeous work to share with you today, I’m sure there will be something here to inspire you, and get the creative juices flowing.

Joanne has once again wowed us with her ability to turn a cute metal bird cage into an amazing work of art. Here she has created an amazing ‘Ice princess castle’

Joanne shares a little about her creation ‘ This time I altered yet another cage…it is the fairy-tale castle home of my ice princess. She lives within and holds a flickering battery operated candle at night. It really does look gorgeous at night but doesn’t photograph so well…I did try ‘

Designer Inspiration

Hi, and welcome to our blog today. Do we have a treat for you. We have a mammoth post to share with you, full of gorgeous floral creations from our amazing design team ladies. We are sure you are going to be just as blown away as we are.

To begin, a delightful layout by Heather McMahon

Heather tells us a little about the creative process: ‘I made the flower banner by using only the centres of flowers. I glued them in place to look like they were strung across the page. I made some small satin bows and glued these at the top of each flower loop to make it look like the string of flowers was tied into place. I used soft pastel colours to add to the dreamlike feel of the page.’

Another soft, and pretty layout, this time from the talented Alicia. The flowers vines make the perfect frame for this adorable photo of her children.

Alicia shares a few tips: ‘I decided to stick with the blues and build the layout around the vine piece (which I LOVE). I cut it into 2 sections. I added the black touches and the paper lace doily to tie in with the Great Gatsby colour scheme I was after.

Roaring 20′s glitz and glamour

Think roaring 20′s, think glitz and glamour… Our gorgeous new release is all that plus more. deep luxurious purples, reds and gold’s, bright, bold amazing colour.

Just take a look at this stunningly elegant creation from Gwen Wruck. Gwen has gone with elegant purples, mixed with silver, and black, isn’t this a perfect combination.

Gwen says’ ‘I just love the new banners, they are plain white and can be used as they are or easily altered with ink, mist and water colours etc. and they are not just for cards… here I’ve used the “Happy Birthday” banner on a birthday layout. I’ve simply spayed with glimmer mist in a perfect co-ordinating colour and added it – easy’

Some glitz and glamour

The new Manor House Creations collection is inspired by all the glitz and glamour that is the epitome of the Great Gatbsy era. When I think of the 20′s the first thing that pops into my head is the amazing head pieces that are so typical of the time.

To create this piece, I started with a piece of dyed vintage lace which I hot glued to a flexible headband. I added a strip of the gorgeous new Lavish bling trim from the winter collection along with goose and peacock feathers. Finally I finished off with some very glamorous red razzle blossoms.

MHC supplies used: Lavish bling trim, Peacock feathers: red, ivory. Goose feathers: Roaring 20′s mix, Razzles: red.

There you have it, simple but so effective. Perfect for a party, or for dress ups, or just to feel pretty.

Classy and Fabulous

Hey there:) Linda here today playing with the new CLASSY and FABULOUS Winter Release from Manor House Creations.

So many delicious flowers – so many styles- so many colours

For my card today I’ve played with the gorgeous Lazy Dayz Coffee blooms and Shades Ivory Roses.

A couple of sweet Gold Capri Roses finish the card.

I hope you get a chance to play with these new classy and fabulous flowers soon.

Winter Collection gone shabby…

We know you are going to be as excited about our gorgeous new collection as we are. Not only do we have the stunning glitz and glamour of the roaring 20′s, but we also have soft dreamy creams, pastels and lace, just perfect for beautiful shabby chic creations.

Karen has used a mix of soft pastels and cream, along with the stunning pink Camelia flower for a blast of colour.

This delightful bird house was created by Trudi Harrison, our amazingly talented educator. This beautiful creation would take pride of place in anyone’s home.

We love how Beck has used the teeny weenie flowers to form a circle on her layout, and again below, to create a border.

An inspiration overload

This striking combination of colour is perect for this gorgeous photo of Heathers teenage daughter.

This layout was created for Scrapbooking Memories magazine, where Heather is currently working as a Scrapbooking Memories Master. She was asked to complete a layout featuring older style pepars in her stash. The gorgeous black ‘Party time’ flower, helps to modernize her layout, and give it a funky look, perfect for the cool photo of her daughter.

Do puppies come any cuter than this one?. Meet ‘Paris’, she is the fur baby of Nancy Winter, all dressed up in her ballerina finery.

Nancy has used the same, gorgeous, and very effective stitching technique as in her layout above, and doesnt it make a striking border?

Welcome BECK BEATTIE!

We are thrilled to announce, that due to our lovely Erin Blegen having to leave our MHC DT due to family commitments, we needed some new and fresh talent to come on board…AND…we’ve found her!

Please welcome Beck Beattie to our Design team! We are so so happy to have her and wait till you see the creations she’s working on…here’s a taste and a little about Beck so you can get to know her.

Although my name is Rebecca most know me simply as Beck. I am married to a wonderful husband that is very supportive of my craft and we have two beautiful boys aged 2 and 3.5 years old that keep me on my toes.

My scrapbooking love includes layouts to off the page projects, and cards as well. At the moment though, I would say that I am really enjoying creating layouts and the stories behind them. Having boys after developing quite a feminine style really challenged my style, and it is something I thoroughly love. Whilst I still have a bit of a vintage and sometimes Shabby Chic style (whenever there is a female in the photo), I also have quite a detailed and slightly grungy style mainly tailored to my male layouts. I just LOVE to add layer upon layer and add in many different elements into my projects and having the pleasure of working with different products which makes this all the more achievable. I enjoy the challenge of trying different styles and techniques, whilst always tailoring a layout to suit the subject or photo I am Scrapbooking.

I have been fortunate to work on a number of different design teams as well as behind the scenes with some of the leading brands as well. My biggest achievement would have to be being named Scrapbooking Memories Master this year along with 9 other very talented ladies. It has always been so wonderful to meet new people as well, and this has definitely opened the doors to many great friendships all over Australia and the world. I now couldn’t imagine my life without this craft in it.

I am really looking forward to this time on the Manor House Creations Design team and working alongside so many talented artists!
