Hi Everyone!!!!
Joanne here with you today. Well it is just about full on summer here in Australia and because of that reason I thought I would do a super bright fun page using the gorgeous “Summer At The Seaside” collection by The Scrapcake, adding some beautiful Manorhouse flowers to the mix and you will have an explosion of colour on your page.
So this is the page you will be creating.
Manorhouse Creations Materials Used: MHC Cottage Garden – morning glory, MHC The Islands – Sunset, MHC The Tropics – Islander, MHC Tiana – White, The Scrapcake Summer At The Seaside – Travel Notes, Summer Treasures, Colourful Slippers & Summer At The Seaside patterned papers.
Materials Other: 6×4 photo, red, blue & white cardstock, Kaisercraft acetate frame, Dusty Attic Chipboard Flourish, ribbon, Spellbinders Dies – eyelet circles, parisian accents & wonderful wings, Tattered Angels Glimmermist – Trunk Bay & Key Lime Pie.
PREPARATION – Paper – TRAVEL NOTES – We will be using the yellow side of this paper. Punch 1 x 30cm border strip and a 1 x 10cm border strip and set aside.
Paper – SUMMER AT THE SEASIDE – Cut a 28cm x 7cm piece from the light blue (sky). From the dark blue (water) Diecut or similar a 1 x 12cm circle element and remove the middle circle with a craft knife to create a frame. Diecut or similar 1 x 8cm circle element leaving this one whole. Also from the dark blue diecut or similar 1x large sized butterfly & 1x medium sized butterfly. From the little boats side of the paper create 2 x 15cm banner lengths. Set aside for use later.
Paper – SUMMER TREASURES – We will be using the green side of this paper. Cut a 28cm x 4cm paper strip leave this one whole. Cut another 28cm x 4cm paper strip and punch a border along one edge only. Set aside for use later.
Paper – COLOURFUL SLIPPERS – Cut 1 x 28cm strip of slippers and set aside for later.
RED CARDSTOCK – Punch 1 x 30cm border strip and a 1 x 10cm border strip. Create 2x 15cm banner lenghts with slightly larger flags. Diecut or similar 1 x 12cm circle element & 1 x 8cm circle element and remove the middle from both with a craft knife to create a frame.
FLOWERS – Using Trunk Bay Glimmermist recolour 1 x MHC Cottage Garden – morning glory and 2x white flowers from MHC The Islands – Sunset. Using Key Lime Pie Glimmermist recolour 2x MHC Tiana – White flowers. To make the Cottage Garden and Tiana flowers less bulky I have peeled away the bottom 2 layers of the flowers.
Step 1 – Please refer to the following picture for assembly and placement of background papers.
Step 2 – Now attach the circle frames and banners as shown below. I created the banners by tracing around a small dinner plate to create the curve and then drew triangles along the curved line. Then cut out around the lines which you have drawn and add some black outlines to create stitching.
Step 3 – Position and attach your photo. Also attach the 2 smaller border strips to the top left of the page as shown.
Step 4 – Attach the smaller light blue full circle diecut to the centre of the top small border strips being sure to overlap the corner of the photo. Add some ribbon bows in contrasting colours. Attach the single recoloured Cottage Garden – Morning Glory Flower to the top of the bows. Now attach the smaller butterfly and a recoloured Tiana – White flower to the butterflies centre. This can be left as it is or I have chosen to make this area the place for my title.
Step 5 – Attach the large yellow SUNSET flower from The Islands – Sunset pack to the right bottom side the photo.
Step 6 – Attach the larger butterfly as shown. Add some ribbon bows, I have doubled mine up for contrasting colour and then add one of recoloured The Tropics – Islander flowers to the top.
