Our new Card accessories

So our new collection is OUT! YAY! And we love some of our new accessories and hope you will too. These were born from idea that the owner of MHC had for embellishments that she couldn’t buy on the market…So she decided to make them and share them with the world. Take a look…

And here’s some gorgeous and very complete looking card using the elements.

This first card uses the CHEVAL ORNATE FRAME, cut in half and added to either side of the tags, then finished off with a sentiment banner which you can shape, bend, pop-out and even colour!

This regal wedding card looks amazing with the new GOOSE FEATHERS as well as the OVAL FRAME and a SENTIMEN BANNER.

Another pretty card perfect for yes…Mothers day! It features the CHEVAL FRAME again and the THANKYOU banner.

A soft and stunning card suitable for wedding or new baby. This one uses both the CHEVAL and OVAL frames placed on top of each other with 3D foam dots – what a stunning effect!

This frame had been altered by spraying it gold and notice the gorgeous HEART LACE, also available from MHC. WOW!

Finally, another pretty card, perfect for Mothers Day using our THINKING OF YOU banner.

An inspiration overload

This striking combination of colour is perect for this gorgeous photo of Heathers teenage daughter.

This layout was created for Scrapbooking Memories magazine, where Heather is currently working as a Scrapbooking Memories Master. She was asked to complete a layout featuring older style pepars in her stash. The gorgeous black ‘Party time’ flower, helps to modernize her layout, and give it a funky look, perfect for the cool photo of her daughter.

Do puppies come any cuter than this one?. Meet ‘Paris’, she is the fur baby of Nancy Winter, all dressed up in her ballerina finery.

Nancy has used the same, gorgeous, and very effective stitching technique as in her layout above, and doesnt it make a striking border?

‘Effortlessly beautiful’ with Karen Shady

Hi everyone, and a big warm welcome to our blog today.

I have had this frame sitting in my cupboard for a long time, not really knowing what I wanted to do with it. Then I got a new photo of my daughter, that I thought made her look very lady like. She is a farm girl through and through, and these photos of her all dressed up are few and far between, as you can tell by the other 2 photos Ive used, lol, so I made the most of the photo, and created this very feminine, vintage style frame. I am really happy with how it turned out

I cut up an old vine I had lying around, and adhered some of the gorgeous peach coloured mini roses to it.

The beautiful, soft folds of the ’Ruffles’ flower was the perfect addition here

I inked a white ‘Idyllic’ flower using an apricot coloured spray ink to match the colours in my project

I’ve been scrapbooking for 9 years now, online for 4 and creating things for my whole life! I live in Durban, South Africa, with my husband, 4 kids

& 3 cats. It’s challenging being a busy crafter here as I have to buy 90% of what I use online and import it myself but that’s a whole other fun side

to this creative life. I’m on various Design Teams right now, Les Papiers de Pandore paper & stamp manufacturer from France, My Creative Scrapbook

Kit Club in America, Purple Pumpkin Embellishment manufacturer in Australia, Berry71Bleu tags on Etsy, Scrap Friends online store in Brisbane &

Scrapmatts chipboard team, also based in Australia. I spend my mornings creating,blogging & working in my studio and my afternoons in my car

taking & fetching kids from their extra lessons and school activities, with a lot of waiting in between. Thank Goodness for mobile phones & e mail!

I do a lot of that from my car!! Thanks so much for having me here at Manor House Creations. I’m a complete flower junkie & love adding

them to many of my layouts, not just the ones with girls in them! Flowers are versatile & I love the dimension they add not to mention the shabby touch’.

We ‘love’ cards

Altered lantern with Joanne Bain

Hello lovely scrappy friends. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and enyoyed the time with your family and friends.

We have something very special to show you today. Joanne Bain has weaved her magic, and created this totally adoarable altered lantern, full of Manor House Creations flowers.

Jo shares her ideas, and inspiration ‘I am always on the look out when we go to the markets for different things for me to alter. Quiet a while ago I found this lantern and I knew it was something I would love to do, so I brought it and it has sat on my bookcase ever since….until now.

Because it closes completely and has quiet a large door I knew I would be able to work on the inside of it as well as the outside. Inside I placed a small twiddleybitz birdcage which I added vines and flowers to and then inside of the cage are small passport photos of my special little man, he is my baby and will always hold the keys to my heart. I have added keys and a small heart trinket which I found in a cheap jewellery shop to the locking piece of the lantern, they were the perfect size for this.

Because of this lantern being dedicated to my little man I wanted to use more neutral tonings. The Winters Song – Log Cabin brown flowers were the perfect starting point. As these have some silvery glittered stamen centres the new Glitter Mini Roses coordinated perfectly with them. I scraped a lot of the gold glitter away from the petals of the roses leaving just a hint and then opened the roses up for a fuller flower. I had some the vines already but added more of the MHC small light green leaves to it to make it a little more bushy.

I like to add rub ons to my creations when I can, so to do this I simply apply them to clear acetate and cut to the size I require. I have placed my rub on into the middle the vine and have attached with a dob of glue and placed a butterfly over the top so the glue cannot be seen. Quick and simple yet very affective and also allows my to give my lantern a title and meaning’.

A colour explosion

Hello, and welcome once again. We love colour here at Manor House Creations, and today, we thought it would be fun to show you the amazing array of flower colours we have available. Below, are just a few of the gorgeous coloured flowers we have in our collection.

Alicia’s choice of bright, summery colours highlights her beach photo perfectly.

Alicia shares a little about her layout: ‘Because there is so much colour on this page, I chose a plain white background to ground the page and keep from overcrowding. I also kept the actual page design really simple, so that

the colour could tell the story. I love how the use of bright bold colours gave my page the tropical holiday feel that I was looking for’.

A magical birdcage

Joanne here with you today to showcase some of the gorgeous Manor House Winter Collection flowers. As with all of the flowers from the winter collection which are all beautiful it would be hard to pick favourites but luckily for me I found a few that I just adore and today i will be showing you just what they are.

If you were to walk into any home decor shop at the moment the first thing that you will see would probably be bird cages of many shapes and forms, so today I have created an altered magical birdcage to share with you.

Can you tell yet which flowers I adore? Maybe a another close up will help..

The “WINTERS SONG” collection of flowers are beautiful. The frosted edges on them give them so much texture, yet they are soft enough to mould into shape. I have pulled the larger pink Winters Song flowers apart to allow me to have 2 larger and 2 smaller flowers. From the larger parts of the pink flowers, one has been made the bottom of one of the nests while the other has been scrunched to make another flower and placed inside the cage. I scrunched the large white Winters Song flowers to make tighter smaller dimensional flowers to allow more to be placed on the cage.

The “MITTENS” flowers are a smaller version of the bigger Winters Song flowers and have the same textured petals. I removed the centres from the mittens flowers and scrunched to make more dimension flowers and have sprinkled these around the cage.

And then we come to the “PETITE ROSES” which just quietly I love!. With the petite roses some were left the beautiful soft pink marshmallow while others I misted with Pink Bubb Glimmer mist to co-ordinate with the colouring of the pink Winters Song – Ice Crystal & Embers flowers. Light green small Manor House leaves have been added through out the cage to add some lovely leafy foliage.

So there you have it…..a magical birdhouse packed with Manor House goodness and a place where little birds and fairies call “HOME”
