Hi again and welcome. Today we are more than happy to announce that our regular DT member, Elena Olinevich, has climbed the ranks to MHC Educator and we are thrilled to have her take on this role.

Elena is a master at mixed media and teaches classes in Belarus, where she lives. We hope one day she will be able to come to Australia too!

So lets’ get the ball rolling by showing you just one of her class project – a canvas, that she taught recently.

Elena always does such ana amzing job with altering her flowers and making them looks grungy, yet still beautiful and intruging.

Hello!  Today we have a post for you with something a bit different. we are featuring leaves…..how to use leaves on your layout and these 2 clever ladies form our Design team have 2 amazing and very original ideas. Take a look….

This first, somewhat amusing, layout, comes from Nancy. Hasn’t she made this look terrific with layers of leaves.

So clever for a ‘male’ layout and she used them form a branch.

Our very clever Elena has done it again and shows you in this video how to be as clever at shabby chic and altered art, as she is.

Let’s see how she did it.

Here’s a few close-ups.

Good morning!
Here is a card set I created using some gorgeous Donna Salazar Designs paper, chipboard and mist. I also added some gorgeous flowers from Manor House Creations. This is a soft and romantic set , which I drew inspiration from the dictionary paper from the Mix’d Media Stax 2 from Donna Salazar Designs. The beautiful soft colours of the Manor House Creations fitted just perfectly with the theme I had going.
I started both cards by applying Mix’d Media Stax papers on the base and covering with white gesso
I then applied the Want2Scrap Hearts stencil and embossing paste and sprayed some Smooch Spritz Artsy mist
I then layered some Want2Scrap Corrugated cardboardManor House Creations flowers and other embellishments .

Hi everyone…yes that’s right. Here’s another chance to win, but we are not going to tell you WHAT it is you can win……because it a surprise (shhhh!)

Take a look at this gorgeous layout below and study it VERY carefully.  There’s something on this layout that you haven’t seen before. Can you guess what it is?  If you can…..you can go into the draw to win!

Have you seen it yet?

MH Be True - blog

Hi ladies, Cathy here with a LO to share.  I love vibrant colours and red is one of my favourites.  As I was looking through my stash, the Belle mixed flowers pack jumped out at me and was the inspiration for this LO.  I have used a mix of products from the Spring and Winter 2013 collections.

Be True To Yourself

To draw the eye to my photo I have clustered some of the flowers from the Belle pack with a beautiful white Camelia, Krystal flowers and medium light green leaves.  I am always on the lookout for jewellery items which I can recycle and have used a gorgeous rhinestone flower recycled from a necklace which I purchased at my local op shop to alter the folded fabric flower.  I just removed the pearl centre from the folded fabric flower and replaced with bling flower which I adhered with a strong quick drying glue.

Nancy LO complete

Hello everyone, and happy Sunday to you all. Today, we have some beautiful layouts to share with you from the very talented Nancy Winter. Nancy has such a soft, pretty, shabby chic, feminine style, and these layouts depict

that style at its best. Look closely at all the beautiful details within both these works.

The large feature bloom is called Fantasy – Moonlight.  It was originally white but it has been sprayed with a watered down solution of paint.

Hello everyone. I hope this post find you well.
Every once in a while I get the urge to create something REALLY feminine. Something packed with flowers. And I must tell you Manor House Creations always fulfills that urge ! Their flowers come in ALL sizes and colours. I know when I look into my collection of their flowers I will always find something to match whatever project I am working on.
I combined my flowers with a GORGEOUS birdcage chipboard piece from Donna Salazar Designs and some other mists and colour from Donna’s collections too.
To start with, I applied thick Gesso with a palette knife too my background and allowed it to dry.
I then sprayed some Donna Salazar Designs Smooch Spritz Sprays.
While that was drying, I heat embossed the birdcage with Chiffon Embossing Powder and once everything was dry I adhered it to the middle of the canvas.

Hi everyone!
Nadia back again today sharing another pink layout. I have used some of my favourite Manor House Creations pink flowers :)

MHC blog - All Natural Beauty

Hi Everyone,

Cathy here, with a LO to share using the gorgeous new Beautiful You Collection.  I love this collection as it so soft and feminine and a perfect range if you are into fussy cutting some of your elements.

To create this LO I started with the reverse side of the Beautiful You-Fresh and New pp as my background which I altered with various mixed media techniques and washi tape accents.

I love to fussy cut my pp’s to create elements.  Here I used the Beautiful You-So You paper, cutting out some of the beautiful rose accents and attaching them with foam dots to give them dimension.  I layered them under the new wooden garden gate embellishment.  I cut the gate into 2 parts to frame my photo and altered the pieces by coating with gesso, then randomly applying aged embossing enamel and a few splashes of glimmer mist.  Once dry I lightly stamped over the gates with a script stamp.

Hi there everyone,

I am back today to share with you all some sweet cards I created using the gorgeous Manor House Creations “Thoughts Wandering” paper range as well as their beautiful flowers.  I haven’t added any sentiments to the card as I will wait until they need to be used :)

For this card I have used cut some strips from the “Beautiful” paper and added some Silks Acrylic Paint in Ginger Flower to the background along with some water to spread it out.  Then I added my layers. How super pretty is that gorgeous pink lace flower!

Blue Skies CSI 128 - blog

Hi Cathy here sharing a LO which I created for this week’s case file #128 at Color Stories Inspiration.

There’s a soft and dreamy pastel colour palette in shades of mauve, green and blue to inspire you on this case file.  As well as the beautiful colour palette, I was inspired by the inspo word “blue” from the testimony for this LO.

Good morning :) Nadia here with you today and I am sharing my latest layout created for Manor House Creations!
“A Life Time…”

I started by applying some clear and white gesso on the background… I  then added some thick white gesso in a “t” direction

I added some strips of paper from some off cuts from other papers and some tissue tape and some canvas strips

We love to share at MHC and can’t wait to show you some of these beauties we discovered recently.

2-MHC_Dec Project_Spring Collection_Trudi Harrison

Our designers were given free reign, to create anything they like for todays feature. We love to do this, as we find it definitely shows the designers at their best, which, looking below, Im sure you will agree.

* * *

Trudi’s stunning earth tone layout is divine. She has used some of The Scrapcake ‘Summer city’ papers, along with a mix of our beautiful spring release flowers

Trudi has misted some of her flowers, to match the colours in her layout. Our flowers are fantastic to recolour using spray inks, they take and hold the colour brilliantly.

STUNNING……

Is the first word that comes to mind when I look at this beautiful photo frame that our very own amazingly talented NERRIDA MITCHELL has created.  She has decorated this beautiful shabby chic frame with the most amazing assortment of Manor House Creations flowers, along with The Scrapcakes ‘My private happiness’ papers, and has created an absolute masterpiece.

If you are going to the Brisbane scrapbooking Expo, which starts TODAY, be sure to call in to the Manor House Creations stand, to see this frame in real life. Along with lots of other beautiful creations from our design team, and many other talented designers.

Our talented designers have been busy at work once again ( is it work or play?)

We love how MORAG has combined the softness of the MHC flowers, with the grungy paint splats, and that fantastic barbed wire.

Decorative Photo Frame by Wendy Smith

Wendy Smith http://www.my-head-space.blogspot  one of our recent guest designers from Anna’s Craft Cupboard sent us this truly stunning multi-photo frame.

Wendy created the frame following a challenge from WOW (Words or Whatever) co-ordinator Sandra Staples. Wendy explains, “ I decided that I wanted to make a romantic piece that would co-ordinate with the colours and feel of our bedroom. I kind of have a shabby chic, red and white bedroom, with ornate mirrors, white bedhead and side tables and red and white decorative objects. I thought that doing a shadow box frame with photos of dh and it would then be able to be used a nice centre piece on our book shelf. “

We think Wendy wins the challenge!
