Our designers have had the new release for a little while now, so have been busily working their magic.

Trudi has created an elegant layout, using one of our brand new flower vines, in white, and teamed that with some of our gorgeous new ‘Sweetie‘ flowers in yellow. You are going to love these, not only are they gorgeous on layouts, but the smaller size, makes them just perfect for all the card makers out there. The pretty brown ‘Lazy dayz’ flower is the perfect finishing touch to Trudi’s layout.

So, are you excited about the new collection? We certainly are. The ‘official’ release is due to happen in just a few days, so the flowers will start to hit the stores soon. If you can’t wait for them to hit the store, the flowers will be available for you to see on our main website in just a few days.

A flower of a different colour

Are you ready to take an inspiring trip through our Manor House garden today. Our designers have once again created some stunning pieces to share with you.

MHC have a huge variety of flowers, in just about every colour imaginable, but, even with so many to choose from, sometimes, you will find that you just dont have that ‘perfect’ coloured flower that you need. So, we thought we would show you just how easy it is to alter our flowers, ever so slightly, and very easily, to match any project, and any colour imaginable.

* * *

Firtly, Gwen has created a beautiful, heartfelt card, suitable for any occasion, and perfect for someone special. The pretty blooms frame the sentiment perfectly.

Gwen-FreeChoice-Beautifulcard

All our flowers take up ink so well, as you can see here, where Gwen has used Glimmer Glam to change the white ‘Ashlee’ bloom an impressive aqua colour. Notice how the blue edges of the Ashlee flower have given the flower a pretty, almost purple edge.

Karen is next, with a pair of pretty, shabby chic tags, made using the gorgeous Taniesha flowers. These flower sprays are just the perfect size for tags and cards.

We love these  2 adorably cute layouts by Nancy. Starring her 2 gorgeous babies.

Nancy has used blue paint to alter the  white flowers to match her layout. She simply put a small amount of blue paint into a spray bottle, and watered it down. Nancy said she was very pleasantly surprised at how well the paint took to the flowers. This is a very inexpensive alternative to buying ready made spray inks.

And, lastly, another beautiful mixed media layout by Elena. Elena is the queen of mixed media, and on this layout she has used lots of awesome paints and inks to completely change the look of her flowers.

Elena has been very inventive here. She has removed the centres of some of the flowers, and added them as the centre of others, giving a pretty 2 toned look to the flowers.

Shabby chic ‘off the page’ with Elena

Today, we have a stunning, shabby chic, spring inspired creation from ELENA. This beautiful key holder is so so pretty, we love the fresh green tones, with just a touch of Gesso, to give the whole piece a gorgeous shabby feel.

ElenaOTPMain

Elena tells us a little about her project ‘When I found these polka dots Maja Design papers, I definitely knew they would be perfect to use with the Mayglo – green flowers

ElenaOTP1

I adhered the papers to the wooden box and started adding the embellishments and flowers. The white Meadows flowers add a lovely soft touch, while the Green Mayglo adds a spring freshness.

ElenaOTP2

I just added a bit of gesso on the flowers and over the papers to maintain the shabby look of this box.’

Designer spotlight – Elena Olinevich

Elena shares a little about herself, and her wonderful style  ‘Only 2 years ago, I was scared of creating a 12 x 12 layout, I only ever made cards. But, I wanted to give layouts a try, and now, am completely addicted to them, and havn’t looked back.  I have experimented alot with my layouts, exploring steam punk, grunge, and mixed media, and am very happy now as I think I have managed to find my own, unique style. I love alot of detail, and layering, combined with mixed media techniques. I am a quiet, gentle person, and I think that also brings a femine feel to my works also’.

Elena shares some of her tips for making this wonderful wreath, ‘ I covered the wreath by wrapping some linen around a chipboard shape, I made some canvas bows, and gessoed randomly over them. I also misted the wreath with some starbust mist, which has added a pretty shimmer to it. I finished off by adding some festive, silver balls.’
