Manor House and Flying Unicorn Flower Fantasy- Week 3

Posted on

We’re here again to celebrate May, the month of flowers. We want to spread some floral beauty around the world. Throughout May we’re sponsoring the team at Flying Unicorn in their Flower Fantasy celebrations.

From the Flying Unicorn, “The Flying Unicorn is a US based online scrapbook store and kit club that not only carries many of the products you know and love, but also specializes in one of a kind, hard to find papers and products.”

“Manor House has joined with The Flying Unicorn to host a Flower Fantasy during the entire month of May and each week we’ll be posting a challenge in the Flying Unicorn Forums featuring flowers, lots of flowers!  Our creative team and the Manor House creative team will share example projects to inspire your creativity and get you going on the challenges.  Every week a winner will be randomly selected from the challenge entries to win a RAK of Manor House flowers!  How cool is that?”

This is week 3 of the Flower Fantasy celebrations over at Flying Unicorn and this week is all about stepping beyond the boundries of the scrapbooking pages into the realm of altered art and crafts.

Melinda Thompson has created this sensational “Inspirational canvas” using texture paste, shimmerz products, and an assortment of Manor House Creations flowers and leaves. It’s the perfect accompaniment to any scrap room.

Tammy says, “I love Manor house flowers, there are many different styles and a array of colors to choose from! One of my favorites to use are the “Cutie pies,” they are the perfect little touch! I also love the fact that when I use them, a donation is made for World Vision for the children. Super fun flowers to work with on any project and a wonderful cause to support!”

ALDA STEVENS, the owner of Flying Unicorn has created this absolutely stunning wheel barrow filled with Manor House flowers. Here’s what Alda had to say about her project,
“From Spring planting in the Northern Hemisphere to harvesting in the Southern, a wheel barrow of blooms will bring a smile to anyone. A perfect way to send off that RAK of Manor House blooms to a friend, with some tea and chocolate nestled inside. A little note, and hidden in one of the package seeds is a gift card.”

Manor House Sponsors The Color Room

Posted on

This month Manor House joins the team at The Color Room. For the month of April, Manor House Creations are proud to support The Color Room. Some of our design team are guests for the weekly colour palettes.

The Color Room is a challenge site started by a group of well-known scrappers who “strive to push your creativity through new inspiring colour palettes, sketches and tutorials.”

Joanne BAIN and Monika MARTINSON are joining this week’s palette #105

First up a stunning, masculine layout from JOANNE BAIN.  Jo has created the most gorgeous central cluster of flowers and ribbon. She also misted some of the Sprinkles to compliment the colour palette. Providing fabulous use of white space allows Joanne’s display to shine.

Joanne explains her creative process, “I have used the Fantasy Moonlight Flower as the base for my cluster. I thinned both the blue and yellow Sprinkles to create a less full flower and then spritzed the yellow Sprinkles with Decadence glimmermist to create a yellowish-brown flower, to compliment my page and to make them a little bit more boyish.”

MHC Products used: Sprinkles, Fantasy moonlight, Rose leaves.

MONIKA MARTINSON has created a lovely layout using soft, subtle tones of blues and browns, perfect for the theme of her page about coming out of the winter into the beginnings of the Northern Spring. She has given gentle highlights to her page by adding in some lemon Fairy Floss.

MHC Products used: Fairy Floss –  lemon, Christmas Angelic.

Adorable recipe box

Hello!  Today we bring you this adorable little recipe box made lovingly by MORAG.  We love Morags OTP’s and this one is no exception…. the colour scheme of apricot, yellow & pink, with just a touch of green, works beautifully!

Recipe box by Morag Cutts.

Products used: Fairy Floss – lemon, Chiffons, Rose leaves – large.

A Layout from Gerry

Hi  friends!

Gerry`s here with my latest layout using gorgeous new flowers and using the newest collection from The Scrap Cake – the beautiful “Cozy Xmas”.

Flowers used:

  • Fairy floss – Soft pink
  • Marguerite – floral
  • Frosted wild rose (N.B. I used only the branch with leaves!)
  • Beautiful – rose red

I decorated the Fairy Floss flowers by adding pearls.

I also added puffy paint to one of the leaves to match the puffy paint I added to the tiny cones.

And a few more close-ups….

I did some stamping, masking and I used rub-ons to decorate this corner….

I used mini bells and embroidery thread to make this mini “Xmas tree”.

Hope you enjoyed my layout today!
