We LOVE the white frosted tips on these petals too. Beautiful work Jeni!

Misting technique with Gerry

Today we have a breath-taking layout to show you, created by one of our ‘Ladies of the House’ – the amazing GERRY.

‘Summer 2004′

Gerry has taken the ‘Summer at the Seaside’ collection from The ScrapCake and used it to make this layout with the most gorgeous of colour-schemes. Gerry, as some of you know, is so clever at fussy-cutting, with amazing detail, but she also manages to make the colours of the rainbow blend together effortlessly. Here, Gerry shows how she created the background of the layout.

Gerry has used 4 different colours here, including 3 mists with a chicken wire template. The pink splots can be made by either shaking your bottle up to fill it with air bubbles or by dripping or flicking it onto your page. The edges were inked aroung the badge shape.

You can see how Gerry has used an embossing tool to make the little boats sit up and become very 3-dimensional. And we love the layered title idea. Did you notice the misted fish net? And the edges of the fish net done with white puffy paint? Now there’s an original idea….

Again Gerry has embossed the little clouds and the octopu,s and look at the little gemstones. And there is that famous fussy-cutting. We love the way she has cut out a photo of her baby and layered it into the fish net. It just all works so beautifully.

And the final touch, a Fantasy – Magic flower. The perfect finish to an inspiring page!

Thankyou Gerry for such an inspirational project.  Why not give it try yourself and see what you can come up with? We’d love to see it and feature it on our gallery. Send you layouts to designteam@manorhousecreations.com

Introducing Ria

Ria was asked to join our team because her style is quite different to the other DT members, being more of a clean & simple style, which is perfect for some of the ScrapCake Collections, but also to show you how to use flowers when your style is not so ‘flowery’.

Ria Mojica

I am Ria Mojica from Manila, Philippines and I am thrilled to be part of Manor House Creations’ Design Team. I have been married to my very supportive husband, Buddy, for almost 12 years and we have 3 kids – Luis (11 yrs), Nadya (9 yrs) and Bianca (6 yrs). I started scrapbooking in 2003 and have been hooked ever since. I started scrapbooking to document my family life, but have found that it has given me back so much more in terms of finding wonderful friends and a sense of fulfillment. I describe my style as simple with a kick, but I’m willing to try anything to see how it can fit in with my style. I am lucky to be part of several design teams and have been published in a few magazines and books. I look forward to working with Manor House Creations products and team.
