Designer Inspiration

Our designers were given free reign, to create whatever they wanted, using whichever flowers and goodies they liked. They let their creative juices flow, and have come up with some stunning creations to share with you today.

Firstly, Heather, with a bold, and beautiful layout, about a cute little friend

Heather shares a little about her layout, ‘I had a lot of fun with flowers and Dylusions sprays in this one. The two flowers on the left are their original colour while I sprayed the flower on the right turquoise to co-ordinate it with the sprays of ink. Spraying flowers to co-ordinate with your layouts opens up so many more options when designing a page. Dylusions tend to completely change the colour of the flower whereas other sprays will sometimes let some of the original colour show through which can produce beautiful results.’

Next, Karola has created this oh so pretty decorated egg. Wouldnt this make a wonderful Easter gift for someone special. A little late for this year, but, you have plently of time to get creating, and stock up for next year.

Heather has created this very clever and striking layout, telling what happens in a typical day in her life

‘I wanted to do a layout about my typical day. I needed to incorporate a large number of photos so I started playing around with chipboard frames and assembled them in a grid pattern. Continuing with the chipboard theme I took some chipboard flourishes, decorated them with paint and liquid pearls then tucked them around my flower clusters. I thought the Manor House flowers worked perfectly to help frame the whole layout and to soften the grid pattern’.

Gift ideas to inspire

 Well, Christmas is over for yet another year, but, if you are like me, it just seems to come around again way too fast. I have grand plans of making hand made cards and gifts for all my family members,but, time always runs out, and I never end up doing half of what I planned to do. So, my plan is to start now, surely if I start in January, I can get them finished by December right?. So, here are just a few more wonderful ideas from our design team girls, both for Christmas, and other occasions, in the hopes that I can get myself, and you guys motivated to start creating some beautiful handmade cards,and gifts, all ready for next year.

Elena shares some of her tips for making this wonderful wreath, ‘ I covered the wreath by wrapping some linen around a chipboard shape, I made some canvas bows, and gessoed randomly over them. I also misted the wreath with some starbust mist, which has added a pretty shimmer to it. I finished off by adding some festive, silver balls.’

Gift giving the Manor House Creations way

Hi, here we are again, with a few last minute Christmas gift, and decoration ideas. Even if you dont have any more time left this year to create these, they are wonderful ideas, and well worth planning to do next year.

Firstly, Karola has made this wonderful Christmas wreath.

Karola shares her ideas for creating this wreath:  I was tired of using traditional Christmas colours on my Christmas wreath’s, so, I decided to go with this unusual, but, I think, very effective colour combination.  I chose  Capri – Orchid and Lullaby- White flowers as well as kilometers of beige ribbon and a few die-cut elements which I cut out using my die-cutting machine and snowflake/ winter branch dies. I stuck everything using my hot glue gun and 3d foam tape on my small styrofoam wreath. To create a lighter,  and more decorative look I also used big paper doily to create a kind of background for my wreath.

Nancy has this wonderful gift idea to share. She has created an adorable ‘Santa baby’ mini album. Nancy says: I have used a rectangular, wooden album, with the song lyrics of “Santa Baby” throughout the album.  It ends with 10 extravagant wishes of my very own

Wouldnt this album make a cherished gift, for a Grandparent, or Aunt or Uncle, full of precious baby photos. Or, you could even leave the album blank, ready for the lucky recipient to add their own photos to it.

Karola, once again, blows us away with her amazing talent. This time with this wonderful ‘Christmas house’.

Heres what Karola has to say about creating her Christmas house ‘When I saw this small, wooden house, which was originally a key hanger,  I decided to create a cute, Christmas house. I covered the house shape using patterned papers then went searching for just the right flowers to decorate it. It was an easy decision to make, the Glitter mini roses, in red, white and caramel were perfect. I also used a large white Lotus flower to create a focal point on the roof. The center of the flower I covered by small circle die-cut to give it contrast, then added a chipboard snowflake to the bottom to finish.’

Sweet and summery with The Scrapcake

Life is wonderful – Karola Witczak

Hi, today, we have a wonderful layout from the incredibly talented Karola Witczak

Below, she explains her inspiration behind her beautiful layout.

Hello everyone, I am thrilled to share with you one of my latest pages, created using Manor House Creations flowers. Its no secret that I am extremely busy in my daily life, so i really love it when I am able to create something under the heading ‘free choice’. I can open my mind, go over all my memories, and ideas i have been wanting to try, and just create. This page is about me, and about loving life. I always say, that even when something bad is happening in life, that there is always hope, and there is always tomorrow. I like to always try to think positively. I believe it is better to take what we are given, than to fight those things that we have no control over.

Anyway, enough chatting, this is what I managed to create. I hope you like it.

I was inspired by the gorgeous Manor House Creations flower packaging, and love to recycle when I can,  so if you look closely, you can see that I have used the packaging as a mat for my photo, its a perfect match for my layout I think.

I covered the packaging with modelling paste, which I have also used to cover the background of my layout. I love the textured look of this technique.

I used some of the stunning new ‘spring’ flowers for my layout. I even covered some of them with glitter.

WIN WIN WIN – a card competition!

Hello Hello! Can you believe its the beginning of November already?! Hmm, time to make some Christmas cards (if you haven’t already started).  So we are here to help. A flower fest

Hello, and welcome to our blog on this lovely Sunday morning.

Today, our talented designers have put together a wondeful display of layouts, featuring our gorgeous flowers, combined with The ScrapCake papers.

Erin Blegen  has created this adorable layout, using the delightful new paper collection from The ScrapCake called ‘Sweet Childhood’, designed by or very own Karola Witczak.

Erin has sprayed the white ‘darling’ flowers a gorgeous orange to match her layout. Our paper flowers take colour amazingly well, and looking at them, once sprayed, you wouldnt even know they had been inked.

Karola has created this adorable little frame, which holds a cute photo of her daughter.

Karola shares a little about her gorgeous frame. ‘I found a beautiful, small and inexpensive pink frame and decided to alter it a little bit. I began with one of The ScrapCake cards , and simply cut out the hole and put the photo of my Rose in the middle. I added a selection of stunning Manor House Creations flowers, and a fussy cut kite also from the paper collection, and created this cute, girly frame’.

Focus on green – NEW FLOWERS!

OUR NEWEST FLOWERS…..

Hello , and a big welcome to our blog.

It is spring here in Australia, and the birds are singing, and the flowers have just started to open up after a long, and cold winter. The thing I love most though about spring is all the greenery. Everything is growing so fast, and the grass, and the leaves on the trees are just starting to grow again after the winter, and everything is a wonderful shade of green. Today, we want to share with you some wonderful spring inspired layouts, featuring, yes, you guessed it, green! Green flowers can add such a fresh, prettiness to a page, just take a look at these.

Alicia has created this oh so pretty layout, teaming green, aqua and pink together, to create this lovely layout of her daughter.

Karola has also chosen to go with a green, pink and aqua colour scheme to create this stunning layout.

Karola tells us what inspired her to create this layout ‘ When I found this photo of Rose, taken when she was sitting on the grass just  enjoying nature I decided to create the colourful, but delicate layout with green flowers as a main feature. I placed the flowers close to the photo, to imitate a flowery meadow’

Designer Inspiration featuring The Scrap Cake

Good afternoon friends.

We have some more wonderful creations from our talented designers, featuring a wonderful blend of Manor House Creations, and The Scrap Cake papers to show you today.

Yuka Hino is first up, and she has made this totally adorable card, featuring the  ’Sweet Childhood’ paper collection, designed by our very own Karola Witczak. There are so many cute little images on these papers, that are just crying out to be fussy cut.
