Winter Collection gone shabby…

We know you are going to be as excited about our gorgeous new collection as we are. Not only do we have the stunning glitz and glamour of the roaring 20′s, but we also have soft dreamy creams, pastels and lace, just perfect for beautiful shabby chic creations.

Karen has used a mix of soft pastels and cream, along with the stunning pink Camelia flower for a blast of colour.

Winter 2013 collection – SNEAK PEAK!!!

It’s finally here!!!!….. And wait till you get a load of our new flowers! Think ‘The Great Gatsby’. Think Roaring 20′s. Think glitz and glamour! Yes, that’s right…in preparation for the release of the new movie to hit Australia last week, we are going rich glorious colour.

Our designers have had the new release for a little while now, so have been busily working their magic.

Trudi has created an elegant layout, using one of our brand new flower vines, in white, and teamed that with some of our gorgeous new ‘Sweetie‘ flowers in yellow. You are going to love these, not only are they gorgeous on layouts, but the smaller size, makes them just perfect for all the card makers out there. The pretty brown ‘Lazy dayz’ flower is the perfect finishing touch to Trudi’s layout.

The next beautiful creation was made by Tiffany, has chosen some of the soft, shabby chic flowers from the new collection, and aren’t they just dreamy?

Tiffany has used one of our brand new ‘layout packs’ to create this layout. Which contain a number of beautiful co-ordinating flowers, in varying shapes and sizes, all you need to create one or 2 stunning layouts, all in the one pack.

Designer Spotlight – Trudi Harrison

Trudi shares a little about her style of scrapping:

I perhaps don’t like to think of myself actually ‘locked’ into a specific style of scrapping. I like to take inspiration from the photos and the products that I am working work. I would however, describe consistent characteristics of my creations as structured with lots of layering, paper cutting, detail, dimension, and sometimes it can be quite ‘feminine’. I confess to loving color. As the saying goes, it does indeed ‘color my world’. However, I will also find just as much enjoyment with the softer tones. I absolutely adore pretty blooms, chipboard and floral patterns. I rather enjoy combining these with my other love of patterned paper. Many of my creations will feature these. This is perhaps when I am at my happiest, combining these ‘loves’ along with lots of paper cutting, layers and dimension.

I am particularly drawn to blue/green tonings. Here I altered a few Petite Roses and Winter’s Song Mittens with Turquoise Blue glimmer mist to coordinate with the background work. A splash of bold scarlet and happy yellow was also added to the arrangement. The Ballroom bloom creates a stunning focal point.

This picture of my Miss N was captured recently over the festive holiday period. I have gone for more of ‘white washed’ effect to suit the old farm shed door in the background of the photo.

A Spring Showcase…

Hi Everyone,

Trudi here with a little Spring 2012 Collection showcase.

Blue Ashlee, Blueberrry Rue and Yellow Mayglo make for a beautiful combination. I can’t help but think of things beach and nautical when I see this combination together.

They were perfect for these two who definitely ‘float my boat’.

Smaller petals were created by removing the centre pieces from a few of the Ashlee and Mayglo blooms. These were used to fill in the flower clusters

The petals of the Rue flowers were softened a little with some gesso.

A touch of sparkle was added to the Ashlee centre pieces with some diamond stickles.

Something a little soft and pretty…

Rue, Springtime, Fascinating and few petite roses create a delightful medley of floral beauty.

Once again I separated a few of the Rue petals. The centre petals fill in the clusters whilst the outer petals provide a lovely layer for petite roses.

A few of the blooms were also misted to coordinate.

Petite Roses were misted with Tattered Angels Vintage Pink and Key Lime Pie and White Springtime misted lightly with Vintage Pink.

A Fascinating bloom adds a touch of splendor.

A colour explosion

Alicia shares a little about her layout: ‘Because there is so much colour on this page, I chose a plain white background to ground the page and keep from overcrowding. I also kept the actual page design really simple, so that

the colour could tell the story. I love how the use of bright bold colours gave my page the tropical holiday feel that I was looking for’.
